David Tiemann did a spectacular job of documenting why the current law simply makes no sense. Shawn Keenan, MEA counsel, also gave a good speech quite critical of the law. All three supporters of the law, Sen. Mary Small, Dep. Comm. Judy Lucarelli and Donna Strickler of the Me. Coalition Against Sexual Assault, presented emotional testimony almost completely lacking in facts or data.
A lengthy session of public comments and questions to the panel followed with clear support for MEAF thinking in evidence from the Bath community. The meeting closed with a straw vote:
